About
My path has been unconventional by design — quantum physics to derivatives trading to financial engineering to corporate strategy and data leadership. Every transition sharpened the same core skill ::: seeing how complex systems connect and making those connections work for people.
At MSCI/Barra, I spent 8.5 years doing exactly that — building and managing 440+ strategic alliances across 75+ countries, serving on the Executive Committee and M&A Committee, and leading business development across content, indices, algorithmics, and analytics. I structured partnerships in co-opetitive environments where trust and sustainable agreements matter more than leverage — an area I care about deeply and have contributed to at the academic level.
I consulted independently for over six years, with clients including Axioma (now part of Qontigo/SimCorp), advising on optimization, risk, and data strategy. Before all of this, I traded derivatives at major financial institutions — experience that grounds everything I do in real market dynamics, not theory.
As Chief Data Officer and Director of Research at Renaissance Park Corporation, I brought the same integrative lens to enterprise data strategy, governance and research — connecting technology, data, and humans into systems that actually work.
Beyond corporate life, I've served on nonprofit boards and completed two terms on the Marin County Department of Education board — because governance isn't just a professional interest, it's a responsibility I take personally. I'm a Climatebase Fellow and continue advising and mentoring emerging ventures.
Physics trained me to ask the right questions. Finance trained me to act under uncertainty. Strategy trained me to build what lasts with integrity as without trust all structures are destined to crumble.
I'm open to consulting engagements, advisory roles, and board opportunities where corporate strategy, data governance, and global partnership architecture need someone who connects the dots differently.
