Stephen Rizzieri
Fractional CLO | Renewable Energy Board Advisor | Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Development | Former Chief Legal Officer | 45 Years’ Experience
About
For 45 years, I have been the attorney in the room when complex energy deals get done — first as Chief Legal Officer for a privately owned electrical energy development company, then for the last 13 years in solo practice representing a renewable energy developer.
I have negotiated and closed transactions most attorneys only read about: project finance structures, land acquisition, interconnection agreements, and M&A in the renewable sector. I understand not just the legal mechanics, but the business judgment that drives decisions at the executive level.
Today, I work selectively as a Fractional CLO and strategic advisor for renewable energy developers, investors, and mission-driven organizations that need senior leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire. I also serve in board advisory capacities where deep industry knowledge and executive experience add genuine value.
What I bring to the table:
• Deep transactional experience
• C-suite perspective — I have sat at both the legal and executive table
• Fluency in the commercial, regulatory, and financial dimensions of energy development
• A network built over decades in the renewable energy industry
• Calm, strategic judgment forged through 45 years of complex deals
If you are a renewable energy developer, investor, or board seeking experienced legal and strategic counsel — I would welcome the conversation.

Jan 2026 – Present(4 mos)
I spent 45 years as the legal backbone of energy development — first as Chief Legal Officer for an energy company, then in solo practice representing a renewable energy developer for 13 years. I have been in the room for the deals that built projects from concept to close: PPAs, project finance, land, interconnection, regulatory, and M&A. Today I work as a Fractional CLO and strategic advisor. I help renewable energy companies get senior legal and business judgment without the full-time cost — and I serve on advisory boards where that experience adds real value. If your organization is navigating a complex transaction or needs experienced legal leadership, I would love to connect.
